The series of graphic works "Shameless dances" by Canadian artist Victor Molev is an amazing combination of dynamics and fantasy, embodied in black and white liner drawings. In these works, the viewer is immersed in a magical world inhabited by dancing creatures: a satyr, an imp, a little goblin and a "Son of a bitch".
One of the key aspects of this series is the sense of movement, which the artist skillfully conveys through lines and contours. Each character, be it a satyr or an imp, seems to come to life on paper, involving the viewer in their rhythm and exciting dance manner. The satyr, with his grace and masculine strength, embodies the spirit of nature and fun, while the imp amazes with his playfulness and mischief. The little goblin, with his disproportionate features and good-natured expression, evokes sympathy and a smile. His dance seems awkward and charming at the same time, which emphasizes his uniqueness and individuality. The son of a bitch, as the most unusual character in this series, brings a note of surprise and mystery to the works.
Viktor Molev, with his skill and imagination, created the series "Shameless Dances", which not only delights with its artistic execution, but also makes you think about the beauty and diversity of dance in its various manifestations. These works invite the viewer into a world where fantasy and reality intertwine in a single dance rhythm, creating unforgettable impressions and inspiring new discoveries.

Victor Molev is a contemporary award-winning Canadian artist. He is working in the styles of Decorative Realism, Fantasy, Symbolism and Surrealism. In the mid-1970s, as an aspiring young artist, he took drawing and painting lessons under the apprenticeship of Moscow sculptor Tatyana Vishnyakova. But it wasn’t until his early twenties that Molev became familiar with the works of Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, Rene Magritte, M.C. Escher and Frank Frazetta through books and magazines. Molev was incredibly inspired by these artists which became like mentors to him.

After receiving an education in architecture, the artist worked in the field for ten years. He then worked as a set designer at the Pushkin Opera and Ballet Theater. Both of these jobs are still reflected in the creative processes of the artist. He has created his own unique and intuitive world of dreams and absurdity. His works are sincerely naive and kind.

Victor Molev was born in 1955, in Gorky, Russia. His works were exhibited all over the world, including the Art Museum of Saint-Frajou, France. Molev has also participated in numerous international competitions of humorous drawing, and won numerous silver and bronze medals.

The Artist was highlighted in an article in ArtMajeur Magazine:
