Glossy finish

La peinture, un langage universel
C'est lors d'une rétrospective dédiée à Soutine, dans les années 1970, que ma véritable passion pour la peinture s'est révélée. Depuis, ce moyen d'expression est devenu une partie intégrante de ma vie.
J'aime créer des œuvres en utilisant des techniques mixtes : acrylique, huile, pastel gras. La surface de mes tableaux évolue au fil du temps grâce à un processus de superposition de couches qui reflètent parfois l'hésitation et la réflexion menant à la décision finale. Je peins par séries, m'investissant simultanément dans plusieurs œuvres. Finalement, le résultat est souvent le fruit d'un dialogue avec la peinture elle-même.
Dans ma pratique, les hasards jouent un rôle qui m'interpellent , j'aime les intégrer et les façonner pour les harmoniser à mon idée initiale, tout en respectant librement la structure de départ. Je gratte, recouvre, alterne entre toiles, papiers et cartons, laissant le processus suivre son propre rythme, quelle qu’en soit la durée.
Il est difficile de peindre sans reconnaître l'influence de ceux qui nous inspirent. Pour ma part, Soutine m'éblouit par ses rouges vibrants, De Kooning par sa liberté gestuelle, tandis que Miró, Paul Klee et le mouvement COBRA éveillent en moi une poésie joyeusement juvénile.
Ainsi, la peinture devient un moyen de narration, où chaque élément plastique s'aligne pour exprimer la poésie du monde – qu'elle soit grave ou légère. Comme l'évoquait si bien Rainer Maria Rilke, « Le mystérieux et le terrible » trouvent leur place dans chaque création.
Enfin, je m'inspire des mots de Joan Miró : « Ce qui est important, ce n’est pas de finir une œuvre, mais de percevoir qu’elle permettra un jour de commencer quelque chose. »
