Biography
We are Vanda Omejc and Gabrijela Železnik, co-authors of artistic mandala paintings. Since 1998, we have been creating together. Our journey began when we met while traveling, and combined our gifts to start creating unique and beautiful mandalas.
We are two artists dedicated to the mesmerizing world of mandalas. With a unique blend of visual artistry and poetic expression, our creations come alive. Each artwork we unveil carries a profound poem, inviting viewers on a transformative journey. Mandalas serve as vessels for wisdom, positive energy, and a deeper understanding of life, fostering connections with ourselves, nature, and a call to preserve it. We, through art, represent the depths of our inner world through the harmonious fusion of painting, poetry, and artistic technique within a single artwork.
Our mission is to use the transformative power of art to bring peace, joy, happiness, and love into people's lives, inspiring them to find inner harmony and well-being.
Gabrijela creates the initial sketches, while Vanda hand-draws the mandalas on glass using a paintbrush in a special technique of tiny dots. Why dots? A dot is round and represents a circle, which is a symbol of completeness and wholeness. Through our art, we aim to bring these qualities into people's lives.
In the end, when the mandala is finished, we write a message in the form of verses that speaks to the viewer about the deeper, sometimes hidden, meaning and purpose of the artwork. Our inspiration comes from our inner selves, which is an inexhaustible source of knowledge and vision.
Mandalas are not just artworks, they possess a unique power and energy of creation and connection. Through them, wisdom spreads and a deeper insight into life is gained, connecting us with ourselves, nature, and the universe.
