Born in 1975, Valem discovered sculpture as a model during her studies. Having graduated as an engineer in 1999, and now a teacher-researcher, she has remained faithful to sculpture and now gives it priority. Fascinated by modelling, Valem works the earth vigorously, varying her techniques and finishes according to the subjects studied. She explores the living, human and animal, and the beings she sculpts, whether they are fleeting encounters, pieces of intimacy or inner journeys, are imbued with her emotions.
In the article "The generous massages of Valem" published in Art Magazine International of March-April 2018, Anouck Etcheverry writes "the postures and attitudes that the artist chooses to present always express a feeling, sometimes subtle but always present, which enters and never leaves us. (…) This love of life in its most “magical” form, Valem transmits it to us, reminding us that human beings and animals are part of a whole that finally vibrates thanks to it in harmony. ”.
Although drawing, then sculpture, have been part of her life for many years, she really began her career as a sculptor in 2018, in partnership with the Galerie Bénédicte Giniaux, by participating in various fairs and exhibitions in several cities in France: Lille Art Up, Bergerac, Rennes, Paris…
