Valérie Fistarol was born in 1977 and lives and works in France. Since childhood, drawing has always been her refuge, a space where she unfolds her emotions with meticulous precision. Armed with her pencils, she brings out the light with meticulous precision when shadows threaten.
At the heart of her artistic work lies the question of the feminine. Between aesthetic quest and exploration of truths, she explores the different facets of femininity, going beyond appearances to reveal a more complex essence. Her marker drawings on paper or cardboard capture these nuances, oscillating between strength and fragility, light and shadow.
Over time, colour has become an essential element of her artistic expression. Through mixed media including drawing, collage and gilding, Valérie brings to life a vibrant, living feminine. Her influences range from Odilon Redon to Georgia O'Keeffe, Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt.
Alongside her drawings, Valérie also explores other art forms such as collage and sculpture, particularly in depicting the female form.
