The “Guardian keepers” series, is about to be shown in a solo exhibition during October and November 2022 at the Contemporary Art Museum - Argentina, Salta.
This painting is part of “The Guardian keepers” series, a series that’s originated as a personal response to a global concern. 68 % of biodiversity lost in the last 5 decades. Becoming acquainted of these alarming statistics a couple years ago, drove me to initiate a scientific research upon most species in different regions of the world with the aim and hope to contribute from where I’m standing with a positive impact.
In this particular case, the Ley's Whitebeam (Sorbus Leyana) is a British native tree facing a severe threat of only 11 standing in the wild, each clinging onto steep limestone cliff sides in the Brecon Beacons. It is assessed as Critically Endangered (CR) on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List.
