Painting gives me the opportunity to creatively engage with my environment and to find a position in a complex world. And it brings joy when ideas are realized in the painting process.
I deal with a wide variety of topics and my work is characterized by inventiveness and imagination, which often revolves around the existence of the 'crown of creation' and its consequences. The impact of human life on one's own and other life forms is a topic that has occupied me for a long time and always finds its way into my work. And humor, which is an essential part of my artistic work and my whole life, also influences me.
I like to show surprising, strange and surreal things in my representational works, but color-painting, abstract scenes can also be found in large, colorful oil or acrylic paintings.
The representational works always arise from a specific idea and are often realized by me using the classic technique of image construction. The approach is completely different with the abstract works - there I let the brush and spatula run free and watch curiously what develops.
After many years working as a chemical engineer in environmental protection, I discovered painting a few years ago and thus my 'calling'. I then trained in classical and modern painting and art history at the European Art Academy in Trier and the Mainz Art Workshop.
I now work as a freelance artist, exhibit regularly at home and abroad and am represented in various regional and national associations.
