Biography
The main subject for my artistic work is the investigation into the meeting of the sacred and the temporal. I see this mystery expressed in the wordless exchange between nature, the body and the soul. My artistic practice is digital, exploring both algorithmic and manually controlled digital processes in my search after insight into the mystery of human existence. My works have been exhibited in the UK, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Mexico and been published as several art books. I live and work at the edge of a large forest in Trondelag, Norway.

Born on the countryside in Norway in 1967 as a son of a vicar, Trygve now lives in Oslo and works as an artist, writer and designer.
In visual arts he mainly works in digital media, with some excursions into traditional paint and installations. He also writes and illustrates picture books for children.
He is especially interested in the meaning behind living and the poetry and value inside every human being.

What inspires me on the whole is the quest for beauty and the looking for the continuing stories behind the everydays.
The last years I have moved more and more into using computers as a tool in my work. I find it a useful and very exciting tool, that allows me to tweak, experiment and combine in inspiring ways. Every now and then, of course, I get the longing for real paint and digs out my brushes again!
For me, art has it's most important function in saying what words cannot reach. Often words pinpoint to much, more than reality itself. Art - in pictures, music, drama etc - excitingly hints about all the areas in between.
