LA DÉLICATE .. (2020) Sculpture by Sylvie Bourély (SB)

"La Délicate" is made of extra fine and patinated chamotte white sandstone with an iridescent pearl white acrylic base, green and gilded bronze from Lascaux, color obtained: bronze with green reflection. "The delicate" is the 2nd sculpture in a trilogy on the theme "sublimating the belly of women". Made of white sandstone with extra fine chamotte and patinated with an acrylic base. The generous shapes and the posture make it possible to highlight all the femininity of the subject and sublimate the beauty of natural women who do not parade on the fashion sets !!! THE DELICATE The delicate is part of a trilogy "the charmeuse", "the delicate" and "the daring". All three were made from the same model but in different postures. The theme of this trilogy is: "to sublimate the belly of women". Why this theme? quite simply because this part of the body is often the object of criticism suffered by women. The stomach should be flat especially as summer approaches. These are the dictates imposed by our current so-called civilized societies ... Our belly is: a universal symbol, an organ working for our well-being, a source of gustatory pleasures, but also the witness of a life, ours, and events that may have marked it (pregnancy, childbirth, menopause). We have to take care of it and make peace with it to make peace with our whole body. He's still a big absentee from fashion and beauty pages and red carpets, but a plump belly can be pretty, erotic, feminine, and if it's ours, then it's all the more time to learn to love it. !
