Picture N.1, called “Sacred Balance”, represents one of the pillars of our existence: societies living in harmony with nature. This principle stands at the basis of the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030, a framework that emerged from an unprecedented historical momentum when 119 nations came together and agreed on how human societies should develop. The picture captures the artist's legs in perfect balance with a fallen tree branch. The alignment between the two elements evocates humans as the prolongation of the natural world, as in the words of the ecologist David Suzuki: "Aboriginal people do not believe that they end at their skin or fingertips… Skin enfolds our bodies but does not define our limits because water, gases, and heat dissipating from our bodies radiate outward, joining us to the world around us."

Since 2020, Susana Orta has established herself as a self-taught photographer, drawing on a rich background in architecture.

She turned to digital photography as a privileged means of combining reality and the imaginary.

His photographs offer an aesthetic perception of the human body, and sometimes, of urban or rural landscapes. His work, as a whole, manifests a deep observation of humanity, by looking at societal issues such as the protection of biodiversity and gender disparities.

She explores the human body through her self-portraits, where she exposes her own body to natural light. She devotes a large part of her creative process to breaking down her appearance into geometric elements, illuminated or in shadow, to propose a new vision of the female body.

Simplicity is a notable characteristic of his photographs. It avoids any superfluous complication in order to convey a precise message. This is why the majority of his works are in black and white, only integrating color when it is intrinsic to the concept.
