From childhood, Stéphane Denis developed an interest in DIY and drawing, having an unlimited imagination. In adolescence, having to choose an academic course, science is valued to the detriment of plastic art. This educational background led to a ten-year career in building electrical engineering, where he was called upon to take charge of major projects. This meaningless career in his eyes led him into a major depression that lasted an entire year. During this dark period, the artist is reborn with an amateur practice of watercolor and acrylic painting. It is art that allows him to express himself and survive. Following a depressive relapse, the creative spirit takes over. He left a career as an engineer to devote himself to his passion for architecture with a new profession of interior designer, who was put on hiatus to take care of his four young children during the COVID-19 pandemic. The desire to create being too strong, he enrolled in the visual arts certificate at the University of Sherbrooke with the ambition of becoming a professional artist by integrating his knowledge of engineering and architecture into his practice.
