It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.
Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

Themes covered are nature , water and reflections 3 if my primary sources of inspiration. This was inspired by a reference I was shown by a friend who took the photo after arriving early to Mass they had tome to spare and found this wonderful view not far from where they were. I was tempted to call this piece ' Too early to Mass' !
My main processes of painting are to block in the main shades, decide of the focus point and build up the painting and textures from there.
12 x 8 inches oil on board. This piece will need a frame to hang.

Steffan Johnson, born in South Wales, UK, is a passionate artist whose instinct to draw and paint has been a constant throughout his life. His artistic journey began in school, where he discovered a deep love for art, which he has pursued ever since. Steffan earned a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Carmarthen University and also studied at Bath Spa University, graduating in 2005. His artistic education was further enriched by his time at the London Atelier of Representational Art (LARA) and the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. These experiences provided him with a strong foundation in traditional methods and techniques, which are evident in his work.
Steffan's art is deeply inspired by nature and the world around him. He seeks to capture the spirit of his subjects through a thoughtful exploration of the complex yet simple beauty that nature offers. His work is characterized by a keen observation of life, whether it’s a person reading, a still life composition, or a landscape painted en plein air. Steffan’s creative process is a reflection of his desire to express the impressions that nature leaves on his mind and heart.
Recently, Steffan has drawn inspiration from the history of his home village, Machen, and the aesthetics of oil paints in simple still life setups. He has also completed a PGCE (PCET), which has allowed him to share his passion for art with students, enriching their understanding and appreciation of the subject.
Steffan's work has been exhibited in a variety of venues, including Bath Abbey, the Washington Gallery in Penarth, The Riverfront in Newport, and Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw in Pwllheli. His art continues to evolve as he explores the relationship between nature, history, and artistic expression.
