To My Collectors (Followers)
Thank you for opening your world to my work — for seeing not just a painting, but a presence. Each piece I create carries something personal, wordless, and intimate. When it finds its place in your space, it becomes something more — a shared story, a quiet resonance, a new beginning.
Your support means more than ownership. It’s a gesture of trust, of connection, of belief in what art can awaken. I am deeply grateful.
With all my heart,
Simon Levin
Artist’s Statement
“A painting is a body made of light and silence and I only dress it in color.”
I never quite know what I’m painting at first.
It begins with a pull — soft, irrational. A shadow that arrives without form. A feeling that hums beneath language. I follow it. I listen. And slowly, I begin to shape what cannot be spoken.
The canvas is not passive — it responds. It holds memory, tension, tenderness. It’s a body before it’s an image. When I paint, I move through it with a kind of intimacy. Color becomes breath. Texture becomes skin. What emerges is not an answer, but a presence. Something layered, veiled and quietly insistent.
I don’t paint to explain. I paint to reveal. To awaken. To remember something unnamed, but known.
And then it leaves me.
Once a painting finds its place in someone else’s world, it changes. It listens to different light. It softens in new silences. It begins a conversation that has nothing to do with me — and everything to do with the person who lets it in.
This is the art I believe in: not fixed, but felt. Not decorative, but alive.
A painting may begin in my hands — but it continues in yours.
What I offer is not a picture, but a presence — something that lingers even after you’ve looked away.
— S. Levin

Using Abstract Portrait in an Art Therapy Setting
This painting can be a powerful tool for self-expression, emotional exploration and healing in art therapy. Below are structured ways to incorporate it into sessions for various therapeutic goals.
A. Emotional Expression & Self-Reflection
Objective: help individuals externalize their emotions and explore their self-identity. Activity: 1. Show the image and ask clients: — What emotions do you see in this face? — Does any part of this image resonate with how you feel inside? — If you could change something in this image to reflect yourself more, what would it be? 2. Encourage them to create their own abstract self-portraits, using distorted or exaggerated features to represent emotions, they struggle to express verbally.
B. Trauma & Healing Exploration
Objective: help individuals process trauma and regain a sense of control over their self-perception. Activity: — Ask clients to identify aspects of the portrait that symbolize brokenness, healing or transformation. — Have them create a "before and after" version of the image — one representing pain and another re-imagined as a symbol of strength and recovery. — Discuss how their artwork reflects their healing journey.
C. Identity & Self-Perception Work
Objective: assist individuals with body dysmorphia, dissociation or identity struggles in exploring their self-image. Activity: — Discuss how the portrait’s fragmented features could represent different parts of oneself (past, present, hidden self). — Clients can create a "mirrored self-portrait", drawing how they believe they look vs, how they feel inside. — Encourage them to modify the image — adding elements that bring comfort, acceptance or empowerment.
D. Mindfulness & Emotional Regulation
Objective: use abstract art to help clients ground themselves and observe emotions without judgment. Activity: — Guide a mindful observation exercise: — What colors or shapes do you notice first? — How does your body feel while looking at this? — What thoughts arise? — Encourage clients to recreate the portrait using calming colors or shapes that feel more harmonious, helping them regulate emotions through artistic modification.
E. Group Therapy & Storytelling
Objective: foster connection and shared experiences through storytelling. Activity: — In groups, ask each member to describe what they think this person in the painting is feeling or thinking. — Have them collaborate on a collective story inspired by the image. — Discuss how different interpretations reflect diverse emotional perspectives and shared human experiences.
Final Thought This image serves as a powerful metaphor for transformation, emotion and self-discovery in an art therapy setting. Whether exploring trauma, identity or emotional regulation, it provides an open-ended and impactful way for individuals to connect with their inner world.
INSPIRATION AND ARTISTIC
By purchasing painting, you do more than acquire a piece of art — you become part of an artist’s journey. You help transform inspiration into reality, allowing creativity to flourish and new visions to take shape.
Every brushstroke carries emotion, every color tells a story and now this artwork finds its next chapter with you. It will breathe in your space, whispering its essence in light and shadow, in stillness and movement. Art is not merely seen — it is felt, experienced and lived.
Your support fuels the fire of creation, enabling artists to continue exploring, dreaming and bringing beauty into the world. Thank you for being more than a collector — you are a patron of passion, a believer in creativity and a keeper of inspiration.
May painting bring you endless moments of wonder, reflection and joy.
a canvas kissed by poetry
What can the intimate and at the same time royal mood of the portrait reveal to us?
The interaction between intimacy and grandeur in the portrait hints at a narrative that extends beyond superficial appearances, inviting us to delve into the complexities of duality and the depth of the human experience. This mood can be interpreted in various ways, as follows:
1. Power in Vulnerability: the subject's expression and posture evoke a sense of openness and inner strength. The intimacy draws the viewer closer, creating a feeling of shared humanity, while the regal elements, such as the luxurious gown and fur, serve as symbols of self-assurance and authority. This juxtaposition suggests that vulnerability and power can coexist, making the subject relatable yet aspirational.
2. The Complexity of Identity: the mood reflects a layered personality — someone who carries both softness and strength. The intimate tone implies personal depth, while the regal aura hints at societal roles, achievements or external perceptions. This could suggest an individual navigating the intersection of public and private selves, revealing just enough to intrigue but withholding the full story.
3. Timeless Elegance and Emotional Resonance: the portrait's timeless qualities combined with its emotional depth suggest a connection to universal themes like love, resilience and self-expression. The regal mood elevates the subject to a near-mythical status, while the intimate details, such as the softness of her gaze or the natural flow of her hair, remind us of the subject's humanity.
4. Artistry: the textured expressive style of the portrait mirrors the complexity of the subject. It tells us that strength and elegance are not static; they are dynamic and multifaceted, much like the brushstrokes that give life to the artwork. The regal elements may symbolize triumph over challenges, while the intimate aspects suggest the journey to self-discovery.
In sum, this intimate yet regal mood invites viewers to reflect on themes of confidence, duality and the balance between vulnerability and strength. It serves as a reminder that elegance is not just about external appearances but also about the grace with which one carries inner depth and complexity.
collapse of the USSR
The painting "Chaos and Creativity" is inspired by the composer S. Levin's composition "Meditations" for a ready-made free-choice accordion, which was performed at a meeting of the Union of Composers of the USSR in 1978, Moscow. Professor N. Ya. Chaikin, who was present, said: "This composition contributes to the collapse of the USSR." As a result, I was expelled from the Union of Composers of the Soviet Union. Pay attention to the "companies" I was in, S. Levin, in this poster and even at the end, BRAVO!
Intimacy and sophistication

Each piece is a celebration of the natural beauty, individuality and emotional resonance that define the human body as both a subject and a muse.

Every brushstroke is crafted with precision and intention, capturing the interplay of light, shadow and form to evoke an enduring sense of intimacy and sophistication.

They are statements of refinement, meant to elevate the spaces they inhabit and enrich the collections they join.

haShabat haShkhora
This painting connects deeply with artistic movements and styles, that explore human suffering, trauma and raw emotion.
"Emotion over Realism": the work recalls Expressionism, an early 20th-century movement, where artists conveyed raw emotional experiences rather than literal depictions of reality. The intense red and dynamic texture here scream pain and urgency, hallmarks of Expressionist art.Artists like Edvard Munch ("The Scream") used vivid distorted imagery, to evoke psychological turmoil. This painting similarly abandons realism for a visceral gut-wrenching emotional impact.
"Physicality of Paint": the thick dripping layers of paint echo the techniques of Abstract Expressionists, like Jackson Pollock or Willem de Kooning. These artists emphasized the process of painting itself as a form of emotional release, using drips, splashes and chaotic strokes to externalize inner turmoil. The chaotic, almost violent application of paint aligns with action painting, where the act of creation mirrors the intensity of the emotions being expressed.
"Violence and Suffering": the dominant use of red has a long history in art, symbolizing blood, sacrifice and conflict. From religious art depicting martyrdom to Picasso's "Guernica", artists have used red to signify both literal and figurative violence. The saturation and depth of red in this piece command attention, perhaps as a plea or a warning about the event it represents.
"Visual Language of Tragedy": this painting fits within a modern tradition of artists responding to catastrophic events. Art from conflict zones often uses abstraction and non-representational forms to grapple with the ineffable horrors of war and human suffering.Works responding to events like the Holocaust, 9/11 or global conflicts often use disjointed, fragmented or surreal forms, as seen in this painting, to capture the psychological and cultural rupture such events create.
"Dripping and Bubbling Forms": the almost biomorphic texture recalls the organic abstraction of artists like Yves Tanguy or even elements of surrealism. The bubbling, oozing effect creates an unsettling sense of something alive and decaying — a metaphor for destruction and transformation.
The abstract nature invites viewers to project their own interpretations, aligning it with works by artists like Mark Rothko, who believed art should evoke deeply personal emotional responses.
This painting channels art's power to process and respond to unimaginable events, turning emotion into a universal visual language. It belongs to a lineage of works that make us confront tragedy, reflect on its meaning, and feel its weight—no matter how abstractly depicted.
It's always a pleasure to explore the layers of meaning in art.
Wonder and Tranquility

That's a wonderful tribute to Claude Monet's legacy!
My works are inspired by the legendary Claude Monet - one of the founders of French Impressionism. His focus on light, color and natural beauty has deeply influenced my artistic vision.
Like Monet my paintings employ visible brushstrokes and an emphasis on the interplay of light and color rather than minute details. This technique creates a sense of movement and spontaneity, capturing the essence of the moment.
My paintings celebrate the beauty of nature, much like Monet's masterpieces. By depicting blooming flowers, serene landscapes and delicate foliage, I bring a piece of Monet's world into the present.
This body of work is a heartfelt dedication to Monet's memory. It reflects my admiration for his ability to transform ordinary scenes into extraordinary works of art.
STATEMENT
Inspired by the work of Claude Monet, this series of paintings seeks to honor his legacy by capturing the transient beauty of nature through the lens of impressionism. By focusing on light, color and the vibrancy of the natural world, these works aim to evoke the same sense of wonder and tranquility that Monet's paintings have imparted to countless admirers. Dedicated to Claude Monet, these pieces celebrate his enduring impact on the art world and my own creative journey.

I invite you to explore some of my recent works that have played a role in this achievement:This painting is quite striking! The vivid red color of the horses immediately grabs attention and creates a sense of intensity and energy. The surreal style and the fluid brushstrokes give the artwork a dynamic and almost otherworldly feel. The abstract background with its swirling patterns adds to this sense of movement and vitality, making the scene feel alive and full of motion.
The contrast between the red horses and the more subdued background really highlights the subjects, drawing the viewer's eye to their powerful forms. It almost feels like the horses are emerging from a dream or a mythical tale, standing strong and proud in the midst of chaos.
Overall, this piece evokes a strong emotional response and captivates the viewer with its bold use of color and dynamic composition.
This painting depicts a vibrant field of flowers, primarily featuring large white daisies with yellow centers in the foreground. The background consists of a vast expanse of yellow flowers, possibly canola or mustard, stretching towards a line of dark green trees and a blue sky with hints of clouds. The use of bright, contrasting colors and the stylized, almost abstract representation of the flowers and landscape make the painting visually striking and engaging. The composition draws the viewer's eye from the detailed foreground to the expansive background, creating a sense of depth and immersion in the natural scene.
I love how the colors and composition work together to create a lively and uplifting atmosphere.
This painting features a captivating still life arrangement of onions. The artist has skillfully combined realistic and impressionistic techniques to create a visually engaging piece. The detailed brushstrokes bring the onions to life, showcasing their golden-brown and red hues along with their green stalks and slices. The textured, abstract background contrasts beautifully with the lifelike depiction of the onions, adding depth and interest to the composition.
The vibrant colors and varied textures make this painting particularly striking. It's a wonderful example of how everyday objects can be transformed into art, evoking a sense of appreciation for the simple beauty found in our daily lives.
Looking ahead, I am excited to share that I have several upcoming projects and exhibitions that I can't wait...

Explanation of the Vision of a Signature on a Painting
1. Artistic Expression: an unusually positioned signature highlights the uniqueness and originality of my work, adding an extra layer of meaning and intrigue.
2. Visual Harmony: an angled or vertical signature can better fit into the composition of the painting, creating a visually balanced and harmonious image.
3. Element of Surprise: an unusual signature attracts the viewer's attention, making them look more closely at the painting and discover new details.
4. Personal Touch: this is my unique way of leaving a personal stamp on the work, making it more personalized and recognizable.
5. Interactivity: such a signature can encourage the viewer to interact with the painting, for example, by turning it or changing the angle of view to read the signature.
In this way, my signature becomes not just an element of authorship, but also a part of the artistic concept, enhancing the overall impression of the work.
The Tale of Samson
In ancient times there lived a man named Samson, renowned for his extraordinary strength and long flowing hair. His hair was not just a symbol of his power but also a testament to his vow to God, for he was a Nazirite from birth. Samson’s strength was unmatched; he could defeat entire armies single-handedly and perform feats that left others in awe. His enemies, the Philistines, feared him greatly and sought to discover the secret of his strength. One day Samson fell in love with a woman named Delilah. The Philistines, seeing an opportunity, bribed Delilah to uncover the source of Samson’s power. After much persuasion, Samson revealed that his strength lay in his uncut hair. While he slept, Delilah betrayed him, cutting his hair and rendering him powerless. Captured and blinded by the Philistines, Samson was taken to their temple to be mocked. In his final moments Samson prayed to God for strength one last time. His prayer was answered and with a mighty effort he brought down the temple, destroying his enemies and himself.
