Het onderwerp ligt dicht bij mij als kunstenaar. Sinds mijn 19de levensjaar zijn mijn partner en ik samen en is hij de rots in mijn leven. We hebben het niet altijd makkelijk gehad, gezien ik een psychische stoornis heb (dissociatieve stoornis).
Hiervoor ben ik meermaals opgenomen geweest op de psychiatrische afdeling. Ondanks alle lastige taferelen kijken wij vooral terug naar de mooie tijden, de prachtige zoon die wij op de wereld hebben gezet en dit wil ik vieren aan de hand van deze serie schilderijen.

Na studie Industriële Vormgeving is Sarike aan de Sint Lucas kunstacademie verder gaat studeren als Illustratief Ontwerper. Schilderen is een passie en een must. Met haar dissociatieve stoornis en hoogsensitiviteit geeft het haar rust en laat het de ruimte voor emoties vrij. Krachtige kleuren staan centraal, net als thema's als liefde en thuiskomen, dat laatste gaat soms gemoeid met een zoektocht.
Haar werk is expressief en half abstract, uniek en creatief. Zij laat zich inpireren door de onvoorwaardelijke liefde van én voor haar kind en man, de natuur en de tegenslagen en trauma's die zij heeft meegemaakt.
Hobby's zijn ook het maken van tuinbeelden. Dit door ontwerpen te laten snijden uit korten staal. Verder ook keramiek, en werken met pastel krijt.
