I love nature. I like to walk for hours along the forest paths, breathe in the fresh intoxicating air of the forest, listen to the singing of birds, but also the rustling of leaves or the babbling of a forest stream.
Similarly, staying in our large garden near the house, which is always full of different types of flowers that I grow with love, has a beneficial and harmonizing effect on me.
I have creative periods when, in addition to natural motifs, I also like to paint people. Especially in various situations of everyday life, in which the essential positive features of their natures and characters are manifested. That's why qualities such as love, joy, optimism, happiness, dreaming, friendship, playfulness, togetherness are captured somewhere in the depths of each of my figurative works. Similar to this painting, where the characters on the canvas enjoy meeting each other.
Sometimes a subtle touch of nostalgia or sadness can be seen in one of my paintings. But never negative expressions, because I always see the Good in every person.

The slovak artist Ruth Dubayová was born in Bratislava on 20-th September 1954. From 1973 to 1979 she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. She lives in Bratislava. Later, since 80-ies she occupies herself with pastel drawing and landscape painting.She creates non repeatable landscape colour variations from surroundings of Banská Štiavnica. Noblesse of the landscape is for her not just the base for true picture, her view is reflection, depicted in form of sometimes gloomy, sometimes brightly sparkling pastel tones. Her gesture as painter is symbiosis of evaporating impression with more aggressive expression. In the 90. she oriented her attention to flowers. She creates series of oils mainly with sunflowers, so close to her heart. Her works are regularly exhibited on separate exhibitions in Slovak Republic and Czech Republic as well on group exhibitions at home and abroad.
