Né en Provence,plongé très tôt dans le monde de la peinture, grâce à une initiation par son père lui-même artiste peintre, Jean-Xavier Combe, après des séjours en Afrique, puis dans le sud du Pacifique, est revenu vivre dans sa région afin de se consacrer pleinement à son art....Très influencé par les impressionnistes ainsi que par Turner, il présente au public des peintures à l'huile aux couleurs très chaudes et à l'atmosphère particulière, et souvent les visiteurs sont entrainés dans cette vision du monde qui nous entoure, vision très personnelle de l'artiste...
Il a exposé régulièrement dans des villes et villages connus du Sud de la France comme Arles, Avignon, Orange, Les Baux de Provence, Lourmarin, Fontaine de Vaucluse... et actuellement à Roussillon en Provence ainsi qu'à Ansouis, magnifique petit village du Sud Luberon.
Son atelier est situé près de Saint Rémy de Provence, dans les Alpilles...
