As always I never know how a piece will turn out. There are several layers and texture, using polymer paste and collage. This work had a science fiction vibe, outlying vessels sent to explore uncharted territory. Somewhat ironic as I am not at all a science fiction buff! But the element of being far away from what is familiar and on an adventure, sometimes scary, sometimes exciting, is one we can all relate to.

The canvas is wired and ready to hang. It can also be displayed on a shelf, mantle or bookcase. A certificate of authenticity is included. No prints or other reproductions are available.

(ENGLISH) Rosemary is an abstract artist working primarily in acrylics. Creative from an early age, she learned to sew at 12 and soon began modifying patterns then designing clothes and accessories. A love of color and texture was always present.

She completed a college degree in psychology and a sociology degree at McGill University, Montreal, taking several courses in art history. While working full time she pursued fashion design at LaSalle College in Montreal. This led to courses exploring color theory and from there her passion for drawing and painting found form.

She paints intuitively, with a strong belief in the effect of color on our mood. As the work takes shape and direction, she responds in turn, instilling a dialogue between artist and artwork. Her works strive to show the limitations of our perceptions. How we see depends our approach, our lens, and what we choose to see. This is a reflection of how we move through the world. Her art is a reminder that there is always something new to discover.

Originally from Montréal, Québec, she is now an expat, living in Ontario.
