Born in 1975 at the foot of a stormy and changing sea, escorted by chalk cliffs, life is happy, with the exception of the boredom contracted at College and High School, where he practices normative and programmatic schooling.
We will have to wait for the event of a meeting in the literary sector. An extraordinary literature teacher opens me up to the radical complexity of a Guy de Maupassant, a Gustave Flaubert, a Jean Lorrain... The passion for reading is triggered, less to succeed at school than to feel the poetic soul which is the lifeblood of the art of writing, thinking and imagining differently.
After which I became passionate about my artistic studies at the university. After four years, I completed my Masters in Visual Arts which combines writing and plastic experiments: the first mixtures of drawings-paintings-collages appear in a neo-expressionist and Dadaist perspective; they attempt to replay, at the level of the mobilized impulse devices, the famous “polymorphous perversities of modern plastics” that Lyotard speaks of in relation to the modernist avant-gardes.
The critical issue: confronting them with the treatments of 'an advertising and commercial machinery that structures our commercial society.
My Master’s director, a teacher-researcher in aesthetics, was the second triggering event. By far the most prodigiously original. Dispelling my fears of an academic university, he opened me to the complexity of the drawings of Grosz, Steinberg, Vallotton... Finally, it is possible to write, compose and think like an artist, to envisage an "intelligence " aesthetic.
On this enthusiastic momentum, I decided to continue with a DEA and a Doctorate in Arts thesis, defended at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in 2007 on the notion of “living forms”. My research and my analyzes are devoted to different artistic forms through the issues of the figural and the in-depth study of visual works resulting from an experimental and multidimensional modernity.
During this period, where I been an associate member of the University's Center for Research in Arts and Aesthetics, I publish aesthetic theories dealing with the issues posed by modern and contemporary arts, and some texts on artists. The publication of a book on the experimental film poet Jonas Mekas in 2014 marks the end of this second period of my life, even if texts are published until 2019.
At the same time, I respond to my teaching missions. I am still a lecturer at the University of the Arts and a teacher of visual and applied arts at the High School.
The confinements in 2020 accelerate my rebirth in artistic practice. Since then, I have never stopped expressing myself through an impulse, rhythmic and carnivalesque device. This precipitate of desires is composed of a mixture of figurations and abstractions, graffiti, paintings and drawings, sometimes also collages: this is how my “sensitive scribbles” are born.
