Larisa Churkina is a contemporary Russian sculptor. Churkina started her career in the Obraztsov Puppet Theater workshop making sculptures and art dolls. She has also been creating objects for renowned Moscow theaters since 2017. Her area of expertise over the years was portraiture.
She is currently devoted to creating a series of personality-influenced portraits of rock performers. The sculptures of John Lennon, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, and Paul McCartney were sculpted from contemporary American acrylic plaster Ecoresin that looked like porcelain.
Larisa Churkina was born in 1965, in Russia. She is a member of the International Federation of Artists in Russia.
