In 2015 and 2016 I was commissioned by retired Blues Musician Bart Pavarelli to produce a series of portrait paintings of iconic blues and rock musicians. These were to accompany The Annual Blues Weekend in Vianden, Luxembourg.

Each year the venue, The Grande Hotel, is closed to the public and is taken over by some Europe's finest Blues Musicians to perform and jam with each other. Past headline acts have included John Lee Hooker (and his daughter) and B.B.King.

The portraits themselves were painted in acrylic on canvas. I wanted to emulate vintage black and white photographs so I limited my palette to just three colours, namely Titanium White, Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Umber.
