Born and raised in Anaheim, California. He went to study art with his uncle, Jack Rutherford, in the hills outside of Malaga, Spain. He practiced his art daily while managing a Lamppost Pizza in Fountain Valley Ca. from 1988-1998. Rich became a full-time working artist while painting out of "THE CAFE TU TU TANGO" at the Block of Orange from 1999-2019. He developed the style known as "LIVE WEDDING & EVENT PAINTING" and has painted over 1,000 live wedding and events in real time as they happen. Dana Point California is now home to Rich, and his paintings reflect what a wonderful place Dana Point is to live.
