Biografie
René Wissink is a professional Dutch artist. He is a passionate art lover and creator of large colorful and visually compelling paintings.
His work is inspired by the beauty of dutch towns and facades, the power of color and light, and the splendor of nature. It can be described as a mixture of abstract and figurative painting, realistic elements and unexpected objects. Using vibrant colors, strong lines, shades and cubist elements, he aims to recreate the beauty of the scene, engage and draw his audience into the painting, create a feeling of happiness or challenge their perceptions.
René Wissink was born and raised in the Netherlands, and now lives and works in Houten, a small city in the middle of the Netherlands.

I have accepted an invitation from Paola Trevisan, director and curator of Trevisan International Art, to take part in the popular annual exhibition "Little Treasures" in Bologna, Italy. Although I have a strong preference for large formats, I am honored to be invited and have accepted this artistic challenge.

Also this year I will participate in a joint exhibition of the local art community in my hometown of Houten, the Netherlands. My new painting “On the loose” can be seen from April 2nd to May 17th, 2024 in the local “Theater aan de Slinger”.

From 14 to 16 April 2023 I will participate in a local event in my hometown Houten. If you are in the Netherlands and would like to see some of my works in real life, then you are absolutely welcome. The opening is on April 14 at 8.15 pm in the local Theater aan de Slinger.

Een heel interessant stuk. Het plot is zo ongewoon dat het je in gedachten onderdompelt. Het perfect gekozen kleurenschema met een complex plot is fascinerend. Bedankt voor de kans om te zien, na te denken en geïnspireerd te worden.

bonjour M. Wissink, je suis très touchée par vos œuvres qui mêlent une poétique réalité (parfois inquiétante comme le réchauffement climatique) avec une rigueur représentative, saupoudrée de détails ou de sens incongrus (le caméléon). Cette irruption, pour autant n' est pas dissonante, elle m'emmène dans un imaginaire ou la beauté demeure en chaque chose. La lumière qui se dégage de vos peintures entre en conversation avec la fermeté de vos traits. Merci pour votre éclairage du monde. Je suis aussi particulièrement émue par "water world".
Hallo meneer Wissink, ik ben erg geraakt door uw werken die een poëtische realiteit (soms verontrustend als de opwarming van de aarde) vermengen met een representatieve nauwkeurigheid, besprenkeld met details of een ongerijmde betekenis (de kameleon). Deze uitbarsting is echter niet dissonant, het neemt me mee in een verbeelding waar schoonheid in alles blijft. Het licht dat uit uw schilderijen komt, gaat in gesprek met de stevigheid van uw gelaatstrekken. Bedankt voor je verlichting van de wereld. Ik ben ook bijzonder ontroerd door “waterwereld”.
