Rocco Cerchiara nasce a Cosenza il 18/08/1980 e disegna fin dall'infanzia.
Autodidatta nell'ambito del disegno sperimenta l'uso di vari
strumenti,dalla matita alla penna alle tecniche miste con
pennarelli,matite colorate e vari inchiostri pur restando sempre molto
affezionato all'uso della penna bic nera a sfera.Nei primi anni del
nuovo millennio si accosta alla fotografia e sempre da autodidatta
sperimenta tutt'ora in questo campo;Nel 2004 si iscrive al corso di
illustrazione tenuto dalla scuola internazionale di Comix di Roma,con
l'unico scopo di affinarsi e di scoprire nuove tecniche;
Si avvicina alla pittura nel febbraio del 2006 cominciando a lavorare
con l'acrilico soprattutto sulla figura umana,tema principale di tutte
le sue opere,Cerchiara ama deformarla,distruggerla e rattopparla
navigando sempre in un certo surrealismo.
Nel maggio del 2007 comincia a collaborare con il pittore Andrea Cardìa dipingendo a 4 mani su tele di grandi dimensioni,la collaborazione porta a risultati molto interessanti ed è tuttora in atto(angryagain)
Piu' recentemente si avvicina ad altri materiali,lo smalto e lo stucco
e alla pittura ad olio.
