Pin Vega was born prematurely at seven months of gestation in Tarragona (Spain), in 1968. After being declared clinically dead, he finally decided to return to life, since he was surely destined to create. Since then, he has always lived in Madrid.

His childhood and adolescence were spent in Soto de Viñuelas, near the Viñuelas Castle, a natural environment that offers him the possibility of doing what he has always loved most. liked: observing nature, insects, vegetation and rocks, with the broad approach characteristic of children that pays attention only to the beauty of small things. This way of perceiving the environment is decisive when choosing his vocation.

Likewise, he spends long periods of time in his grandparents' residences: the Guadalmellato reservoir, in the mountains of Córdoba, and the Esla reservoir, in the province of Zamora. One day at the age of eleven, as an initiatory bath or as a harbinger of the artistic experience he would experience later as an adult, he decided to immerse himself in the deep waters of the Guadalmellato reservoir. He wants to unravel the mystery of fascinating mineral formations of infinite colors that go into the water. Such is the influence that these have on him, that he promises himself to create works of similar beauty to the rocks that he has just discovered.

At the age of eighteen, he enrolls in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Madrid, although he has already had the opportunity to exhibit and sell numerous realistic works, with portraiture and landscape as themes of inspiration, he decides to radically change his style, to dedicate himself entirely to his current “pictosculptures”—as as he defines them—: three-dimensional paintings or polychrome sculptures to hang on the wall. His first work within this line dates back to 1990. In April 1991, after casually encountering the work of the sculptor Anish Kapoor at the Palacio Velázquez in Madrid, he decided to charge his work with spirituality through pure and saturated pigments. In 1992, after studying sculpture and photography, he graduated in painting.

In 1996, he met the German dealer Oliver Stümann, who would be seduced by his works, launching him to conquer the German market and opening in his honor. the gallery that will bear his name “Gallerie PIN” in the city of Bielefeld, which opened with a large individual exhibition by the artist.

In 2014, on the occasion of the inauguration of his new studio in Madrid and as a professional challenge, he decides to organize a live creation performance for his best clients. A total of 45 people are the lucky ones who attend the event. Its success is such that, since then, Pin Vega organizes one or two performances a year in which it shares with the public the intimate process of creating a work, as well as the catharsis experienced at that moment.
