Piero Tartaglia was born the 5th of October 1933, in Civitavecchia, near Rome. In 1951, he approached the avant-garde current "The European Group" of Serge Poliakoff, with Karel Appel, Santomaso, Albert Bitram, Lucembert, Pierre Alechinske, Corneille. Attracted to the abstract and informal tendencies, matured a pictorical search through the territories that are not placed in horizontal, but they develop in vertical apparitions, following a law of gravity where it isn't necessary to test statics of the masses and the volumes, but,at the most, to take advantage of the ability of association and eclectism of the materials. And in his case, even if the materials are heavy matters, Tartaglia with pragmatic lightness uses this patchwork of colors and signs, riding himself visibly of the problem of the ideological ordering. Spatulas and paint-brushes transmit alarming "signals of occupation" on shapes that thicken and break in the three-dimensional space on which the image spreads and arranges its way. This is the minimum block of the diaphragm between the idea and its realization; it is the minimal thickness that allows a contraction between minded moment and executive moment. The produced field of image bring us back to the moral, ethical sense (there isn't tragedy around the mutation), it is the disintegration in order to rebuild. In other words, it is like overlapping an idea on the other, a true building up, an image on the other, the architecture as neo/objectistical way in order to give an end to the disturbance of the "disembarkation" of the "super-Art" on the architecture of the impossibility. That naturally it is not personal, but social and historical. Piero Tartaglia uses this architecture not as moralistic denunciation, but as clear ability of the use of the impossibility itself in the possible twisting of a language, where nothing is impossible but everything becomes object of a putting in image. The Artist tries to contest the three-dimensional brutality of life, and he goes to Venice, in Saint Mark Square, with a carcass of a car riddled with bullets : it is a sculpture/provocation/architecture in contrast to the Biennial of Art. The Modern Movement forces him to ask himself in a divertivig way on his role of artist, on his ability to affect the reality. The first point of departure of Piero Tartaglia is finalizing his plans to the "look". Plans that are not simple passages, but points of pause, suspension, "traps" of the visions, able to provoke ecstasy and pleasure. Therefore the "disgregazionismo" is an architectonic creature of Piero Tartaglia; he is the founder recognized by the world-wide critics who assumes the responsibility of the rebuilding of the constructed and to construct values. In order to conclude, the works of the Master marks some way the "point of the impossibility" to construct the limit of this impossibility. And that's why a new interest can begin in works like his, placed on the border of the impossi...
