Pier Bertig, a contemporary Romanian painter, hails from a family deeply immersed in the world of art. Born into an Italo-Romanian family, creativity and artistic expression surrounded him from an early age. The artistic lineage within his family is impressive, with his grandfather Giuseppe Bertig serving as a skilled stone carver, and uncles Ervin and Vittorio Holtier making their mark as painters and sculptors. His mother, Mariana, added her touch to the family's artistic legacy as a costume designer.

At the tender age of 11, Pier Bertig embarked on his artistic journey by participating in his first exhibition, a moment that foreshadowed his future success. Notably, he clinched the prize for the best artist in his age group, a testament to his innate talent and dedication to his craft. Painting emerged as a liberating medium for him, providing a canvas to freely express his boundless imagination.

Despite his early artistic achievements, Pier Bertig, marked by a sense of responsibility, ventured to Europe at the age of 18. During this period, he engaged in various jobs to sustain himself while never abandoning his passion for painting.
