I’m Phil Smith and I am passionate about capturing the beauty and the essence of iconic celebrities with a contemporary twist. 

I have always had a love for monochromatic images and have constantly learnt new styles and techniques to improve my drawing and paintings. 

With the monochrome portraits and a subtle yet powerful touch of carefully considered colour I strive to create pieces that evoke emotion and that speak to the viewer on different levels. 

My journey in the world of art began as a young child always drawing. This continued even after I left school and began my career as a plasterer. 

Over the years I have honed my skills and developed my artistic style, drawing inspiration from my love of music and intrigue towards iconic figures.
