Patrick Dubois was born in 1955, in an environment that is not conducive to personal artistic development. The desire to create, however, is born and remains anchored in him throughout his life to flourish finally at the threshold of retirement. It is self-taught that he takes in 2017 brushes and knives to express himself in complete freedom. "Liberty", a master word in the work in progress; the absence of training, of guide, rules ... prevails towards an experimentation without limit or constraint.
It is in the field of abstraction that this need for space will most often find expression, although we sometimes notice elements that we might think figurative; as so many narrative references in the course of creation. Matter, losing its own nature, sometimes invites the eye to come out of a flat world for even more imaginary places.
The practice of art being nothing without the gaze of the other, comes quickly the time to expose oneself to it, to put oneself in danger, to share one's visions, and to enrich oneself with public and peer exchanges.
