Sri Yantra was known in India as early as 4000 BC. Vedic scriptures mention of the Sri Yantra symbol as being revealed by the gods. It has indeed baffled and amazed modern mathematicians and scientists that such a complex geometrical symbol was drawn and constructed almost 6000 years ago.
Even in places like Cambodia, Indonesia and Egypt which has ancient Indian influence the places of worship and pyramids were built on the lines of Sri Yantra. A three centimeter Sri Yantra possesses a greater energetic effect than a two meter pyramid.
Shri Yantra Mandala ,also known as the Cosmic Yantra, the Sri or Shri Yantra Mandala .Sri yantra, also known as Sri Chakra, is called the mother of all Yantras because all other Yantras derive from it.
The Shri Yantra consists of a combination of nine triangles of different angles and sizes which penetrate each other. The nine penetrating triangles represent the process of creation. The five triangles pointing from the top to the bottom represent the male impuls of creation, while the four triangles pointing from the bottom to the top represent the female power of creation .
The Sri Yantra is one of humankind's most ancient symbols. For many millennia the Sri Yantra has been used to invoke good fortune, wealth, health, and as an aid for meditation.
