I use oil colours by overlaying many very thin layers of appropriately diluted colour to create the effects I want.
The surface of the work was finished with a final layer of satin varnish to protect the work.
I depicted an old aluminium kettle, a red oiler and a rusty blue tin coffee pot, all hanging by a thread.
I took the objects out of their context to place them in a new dimension, that of memory: they are all objects that remind me of loved ones from my childhood!
I imagined that they were hanging by a thread, at the mercy of time, just as my memories are, which I would not like to forget but which fade more and more with time.
SOSPESI is the new series that I started painting in 2022, with which I wish to reflect on the suspended moments that life places before us and, through art, to overcome the barrier of time, to give value to each instant.
The work is unframed to create even more of a sense of freedom.
The work is signed on the front and back and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
for non-EU shipping, you must wait for authorisation from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, which may entail a delay of a few days

Nicoletta Bagatti is a contemporary Italian artist whose artistic journey has been marked by a profound exploration of memory, beauty, and the expressive power of painting. Her passion for art was ignited during a six-month drawing course under the guidance of Maestro Gianni Melegari, whose teachings helped her refine her skills and establish a path grounded in rigor and unwavering dedication.
In 1999, Bagatti held her first significant solo exhibition titled "I mnemagoghi," translating to "arouses memory," where memories with immense evocative power became central to her artistic series. Subsequently, she collaborated with various art galleries until 2004, when she was selected by the San Lorenzo Art House for a cultural exchange with American artists in Miami. This experience expanded her artistic horizons, leading to participation in a collective exhibition inspired by the vibrant city.
Bagatti's artistic evolution continued with significant milestones, including her 2009 exhibition at the Eleonora D'Andrea Contemporanea Gallery, where she unveiled her "A Nude" series, delving into the concept of inner beauty. The success of this event was underscored by her installation at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lucca, further solidifying her reputation as a nuanced and introspective artist.
Throughout her career, Bagatti has maintained a steadfast commitment to using the ancient technique of oil painting, meticulously crafting each work from the ground up. She strategically highlights aspects of her compositions to convey specific messages while leaving other areas deliberately incomplete, inviting viewers to interpret and engage with her art freely.
Bagatti's oeuvre is characterized by its original and intense poetics, blending silence with vibrant energy to celebrate the power of life. Her compositions, rich in tactile details and evocative tensions, eschew perfection in favor of capturing raw emotional landscapes and profound human experiences. Through her diverse thematic explorations, Bagatti continues to push artistic boundaries, inviting both herself and her audience to delve deeper into the realms of imagination, emotion, and existential reflection through the timeless medium of painting.
