Natacha Bresmal, self-taught collage artist, born in Mons in 1967, lives in Jambes (Namur).
Natacha has always loved contact with paper. Her taste to bring together, she began to transpose it on canvas one winter evening in 2010, following the pressing desire to associate the tones and the words coming from papers chosen and reserved for months, without particular intention... This approach then really imposed itself on her, taking - over time, unforeseen events and happy coincidences - more and more space.
In these creations, Nash is sometimes carried by the colors, the textures, shapes, sometimes by the gestures she tries; she lets herself be completely guided by her instinct throughout creation. She sometimes offers radically different approaches and her work also evolves following a constraint that she poses or that comes from outside. His series “He was a place” is a good example.
From his combinations of papers arise skilfully contrasted and rhythmic collages, mazes of shapes and colors which manage to reconcile structure and poetry, abundance and sobriety . The relief is striking. It invites you to touch the glued and varnished layers of paper, to slip between the curves and lines, like so many windows opening onto new perspectives...
