Tulun remained 15 kilometers behind and one and a half days' journey. Ahead, somewhere hiding behind the high walls of the primeval taiga, the Angara is raging. The steep four-meter banks are covered with a gigantic taiga biome, which, in a thoughtful silence, sees off the swift waters of the river. The first hours in the taiga are rather unusual for a city dweller. The depth of silence presses. Then, after many days, the same silence will beckon you back, tearing the harsh fabric of the city buzz. And also the air. You will spend the first night in a tent in oblivion, including fatigue, but mainly from oxygen poisoning. It sounds satirical, but the body, accustomed to feeding on city smog and asphalt dust, suffocates and falls asleep, strangled by the soft stranglehold of oxygen on the forest slope.
In the morning, in the haze of the predawn fog, quacking and shivering from the cold, you are ready to hear the silence and you begin to distinguish in it the scattering of sounds of the awakening forest. The atmosphere of forest life begins to take you into account in its chores. Birds gradually cease to be ashamed of your presence and start morning roll calls and squabbles. In the foliage overhead, the nutcracker cracked the first nut so far. A chipmunk, in a hurry on business, is tossing and turning in the moss. And among the trees the white tail of a young roe deer flashed.
You are trying to persuade yesterday's coals to give you a little warmth and disperse the morning shroud of seduction and fog. After a short argument, the fire decides not to deprive you of your self-confidence, but at the same time your morning coffee. The bonfire knows that you are urban and weak. You need coffee. A bonfire will help you overcome your fear of the power of nature.
I painted this picture right after returning from my little trip. The idea was in a triptych tied to the reflection of the taiga at different times of the year, but for now only this thick and strong organism.

Yulia Zhdanovich, a contemporary Belarusian artist, embarked on her artistic journey with a passion for drawing that manifested as early as the second grade of her comprehensive school. Her talent was further nurtured by her grandfather, who left behind sketches of people and natural landscapes filled with ink and pencil.

Continuing to cultivate her skills, Yulia pursued learning opportunities through webinars, online courses, and masterclasses offered by various artists. Alongside her studies, she explored new avenues for expression and income, eventually finding success painting portraits in the style of pop art on commission.

During her work on pop art portraits, Yulia began experimenting with mixing colors for the background, delving into the intricacies of color theory and shades. Starting with pairs of colors, she gradually progressed to explore the magic of the tricolor palette, expanding her artistic repertoire and honing her craft.
