My 1st solo art exhibit

Gabriela Art Gallery launches A Haven of Eloquent Emotions by Michelle Escamillan
Aspiring abstractionist artist Michelle M. Escamillan will uncover her abstract art collection through a first solo art exhibit entitled “A Haven of Eloquent Emotions”. The exhibition will be seen at Gabriela Art Gallery located at 856 A. S. Fortuna St. Banilad Mandaue City. The opening reception with the artist takes place on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 6 pm. The show runs from February 23, 2008 through February 29, 2008.
In this exhibition Escamillan create artworks which manifest the sublimation of the artist’s repressed emotions into visual form. Escamillan claimed to be concerned with emotions, she purely express her inner self. The artist used the abstract expressionistic approach in her artworks because it is her one way of imparting herself to the viewers. The artist combined relief collage as well as painting techniques with expressive brushstrokes. The paintings are basically non-objective which means there are no actual objects represented. Influenced by the abstract expressionists like Jackson Pollock and Franz Kline, the artist make creations that are truly personal and candid.
The exhibition is open to all from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm from Mondays until Saturdays and by appointment on Sundays. For further information please contact Jillaine Salazar, the operations manager of Gabriela Art Gallery, cell phone number is 09192196190 or 3443039.
