Maxime Plancque is a contemporary French sculptor. Plancque is a figurative artist, who forges his sculptures at 1200° with a sledgehammer. His sculptures represent the human figure through simple silhouettes; the busts are devoid of arms and the legs are simply suggested. Intended to be viewed from all points of view, and although nested on their base, the figures are removable and orientable. The pleasure is to be able to gather them, to arrange them in multiple ways and to play with the subtle effect of light and shadows. Thanks to his talent, the artist plays with this opposition between immobility and movement, the raw material and the softness of the lines and transforms the material into emotion.
Maxime Plancque was born in 1958, in France. He has exhibited his works in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and The Netherlands.
