Mauro Ferri was born in Milan on 21 June 1969. He spent his childhood in Cassina de Pecchi, a town in the province of Milan, where he approached the world of analogue photography as a boy.
His school studies temporarily distanced him from photography, leading him towards his work as a nurse, fully engaging him until the 2000s.
In the meantime, the advent of digital and subsequently the explosion of photoshop completely destabilized the romantic image of the photographer who accompanied Mauro's dreams since he was a child, extinguishing his enthusiasm and curiosity towards photography.
But it's only a temporary break, the call is too strong. When he turns 40 he will start taking photographs again with the vision and expression of a mature man.
However, he starts again from the basics, taking part in photography courses, signing up for photographic meetings and numerous workshops.
In one of these he met Maestro Maurizio Galimberti where on that occasion he discovered instant photography.
Struck by the expressive potential of the instant method, he began, encouraged by Galimberti himself, to use the Master's techniques, experimenting with new methods and procedures.
Techniques that he still experiments with without interruption today.
In 2021 he exhibited at the "contemporary photography collective" Margutta Fotografia at the Dantebus gallery in Rome.
In 2022 he exhibited at the collective PATPAVIA at the Belgioioso Castle in Belgioioso Pavia. On this occasion, one of his works was published in the local newspaper as a representation of the exhibition.
His works are prominently displayed in numerous private collections.
