A painter originally from Charleroi in Belgium, Martine Gonnin has, for more than 16 years, owned a “Atelier-Gallery” on the Arcachon Bay in the town of Andernos les Bains.
S 'being first made known thanks to its fields of poppies in several parts: triptychs and diptychs in large formats. Over time, she tackles other themes such as the Cabins and Pinasses of the oyster ports of the Basin, the “nodding” Bottles of the Bordeaux vineyards, Long-legged Cats and Kissing Fish.
She She then tries the characters that she represents as sculptures of her imagination, then other essential themes of the artist are born: Bathers, Girlfriends, Portraits of women with elongated faces and noses….. Often compared to Modigliani or Picasso, Martine Gonnin does not claim any artistic style, except her own and the fruits of what she carries within her!
Self-taught and spontaneous, colorist in the soul, it likes to “blur” its colors. Her working tools: acrylic and knife, she likes to work quickly and thickly!
Using very few models, she often invites visitors to her “Atelier-Gallery” to give their opinion on this that she is painting, a mouth too crooked, a nose to be corrected, her talent is applied and built in the exchange. An artist through and through, her hands keep track of the paints she uses but that doesn't bother her, her life is her painting!
Very productive, she never runs out of paint inspiration and knows how to anticipate trends as well as match nuances.
Her Martine Gonnin site was created for the sale of her line of reproductions. After decorative canvases in digital printing and decorative tarpaulins, she would like to present other supports such as mugs, printing on plexiglass and sheet metal, cushions and even phone cases.
