Biography
Martina Krupickova is a contemporary Czech painter known for her dynamic and evolving artistic style. Born and raised in the Czech Republic, she embarked on her artistic journey after graduating from a prestigious school in Brno with a focus on Fashion Design and Textile studies. Martina's exploration of the arts took her across the Atlantic, spending several months in both England and the USA, where she absorbed diverse influences that would later shape her distinctive approach to painting.
Upon her return to Prague in 1999, Martina delved into the world of oil painting on black canvas, using a palette knife as her sole instrument of creation. This unique choice not only set her apart but also became an integral part of her artistic identity. The palette knife, with its versatility, allowed Martina to experiment with both sharp focus and abstract smoothness, a technique that she would master to perfection over the years.
Martina's artistic style is a testament to her continuous evolution. While her early works featured strong colors and bold strokes, her later pieces exhibit a slightly softer and more abstract quality, all while maintaining a play with light and shadow on a black background. A key element of her approach is the deliberate exclusion of brushes, relying solely on the palette knife to bring her visions to life.
A defining characteristic of Martina's paintings is their ability to captivate viewers by revealing new dimensions as they adjust their perspectives, akin to turning the pages of a captivating book. Her creations draw inspiration from personal experiences, manifesting in landscapes, cityscapes, and depictions of transport. Martina Krupičková's artistic prowess has garnered recognition and acclaim, with an impressive portfolio of 28 exhibitions to her name. Her works have been featured in prestigious events such as the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Art Tentation Monaco, and the Edinburgh Art Fair. In 2018, she was selected as one of the 48 competitors for the UK Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year TV series, further solidifying her presence in the international art scene.
Beyond exhibitions, Martina's paintings have found homes in private collections across the globe, including the Czech Republic, UK, USA, Belgium, Germany, France, Sweden, Canada, and the Slovak Republic. Her achievements extend to the realm of television, with appearances and interviews on Czech Television CT1 Dobre Rano and the popular talk-show Vsechnoparty. Additionally, Martina has earned several awards and has established collaborations with leading Czech auction houses, marking her as a prominent figure in the contemporary art world. Česká Mincovna - in June 2024, it will issue a gold half-ounce Tramvaj ČKD Tatra T3 proof medal. That's why I created a series of paintings from the city of Prague mostly with tram motive, which I've been working on since last year. 5 canvases will be presented until sold out, latest until 30/08/2024. Opening hours: Mon–Fri 09:00–18:00, Sat 10:00–16:00

Charity auction
Follow your path 2023 (50 x 65 cm) - This painting was auctioned off in Žofín on September 11, 2023 in a charity auction for the Children's Friends Club DD "97" for a beautiful CZK 35,000. I'm glad it will help good things.

Prahy (DPP) srdečně pozvala na výstavu “Městem a krajinou”, která tematicky zapadá do výstavního místa Muzea MHD v areálu vozovny Střešovice, Patočkova 460/4, Praha 6. Otevírací doba: každou sobotu, neděli a svátky od 9.00 hodin do 17.00 hodin. Od 1.6. otevřeno i ve středu od 12 do 17 hodin.
