The image of the burning Notre Dame has been haunting me since 2015, when I had a chance to see (still in that form) this grandiose masterpiece of Gothic architecture with my own eyes.
Strange sketches and sketches of the cathedral, engulfed in fire, which I considered the frivolous delusions of my imagination, contemptuously went into the depths of the closet.

It happened in 2019. (No, I didn't set it on fire.) And yes, I felt a little Vanga, although I am a skeptic who is not inclined to believe in either predictions or mysticism.
But somehow this event shocked me.
In 2022, the smoldering Notre Dame Cathedral appeared on this canvas.
Apparently my subconscious mind is persistently trying to connect this fire with all subsequent world events. Covid, pandemic, wars... Well, you get the idea.
And I understand that there is no logical connection between all this, but my creativity saw this as a kind of omen. Or maybe my psyche is just tirelessly looking for at least some justification for all the misfortunes that have occurred over the past couple of years.

However, this is not so important. The work is done and let me go.
