Marco Zamudio, born in Mexico on May 18, 1973, is a contemporary visual artist known for his dedication to realist painting. He graduated in Visual Arts from the National School of Plastic Arts, San Carlos, in 1995. His commitment to his craft earned him first place in the 2006 National Sacred Painting Competition: The Gospel according to Saint Luke, organized by the Manuel Toussaint Institute, Ecumenical Center for the Conservation and Promotion of Artistic Heritage.
In October 2010, Zamudio inaugurated his mural "The Passenger" at the Insurgentes station of the Metro Collective Transportation System of Mexico City. His second mural, "El Anden de Ouroboros," was unveiled in March 2013 at the Tlatelolco station of the same transportation system.
Zamudio's prolific career includes participation in over 90 group exhibitions and around 35 individual exhibitions. Notable solo exhibitions include "Sublimes Irredentas" at the El Carmen Museum and "Claroscuro" at CEMUART, both in 2013. His 2016 exhibition "Ocaso Sin Aurora" at the Casa Diego Rivera Museum propelled his work to European cities such as Florence and Rome.
On March 18, 2015, he released his first OBRA book, with a second volume slated for publication in 2024. One of his most ambitious projects, "Alice," began in 2015 and involved working with schizophrenic patients. This project was showcased in both private galleries and public museums, including the UdeNL civil school in Monterrey.
In the Roma neighborhood of Mexico City, Zamudio unveiled his fourth mural, paying tribute to migrants. This mural has been embraced by the urban community as a significant societal image.
