Madhur Dhingra, a photographer based in both Toronto and New Delhi, is distinguished by his career marked by the complex legacy of the partition between India and Pakistan.
Born an only child in Delhi, into a family torn apart by the aftermath of the partition between India and Pakistan, Madhur Dhingra experienced the devastating effects of this troubled period. The bloodshed and family disintegration following partition forced his once well-to-do family to relocate to New Delhi, leaving behind wealth and stability. These events left a deep imprint of insecurity within his family, which he unfortunately inherited, even being born many years later.
It was in this complex web of insecurity that her passion for photography was born. Madhur Dhingra found in photography a way to fill the void left by these uncertainties. He has become an avid fine art photographer, emotionally capturing street scenes, unfamiliar faces and the spontaneous moments that unfold around him.
Constantly seeking to renew herself, Madhur experiments with new techniques and styles to create unique images. His work has been praised by numerous international magazines and galleries, testifying to his ability to capture the essence of everyday life in striking shots.
Her recent personal exhibition in Erquy, France was successful. Supported by four photography clubs in Brittany, the exhibition was a landmark event, arousing the interest of the French media. Four major newspapers in France published glowing articles about his work and the exhibition at Erquy ended with a triumph, all the works having found takers.
Madhur Dhingra's exhibitions and work have also been acclaimed and published in Europe and the United States, demonstrating his talent for transcending cultural boundaries and communicating the universal human essence through his photographs.
