Lucien-Carol Proulx is a mixed media wood sculptor. He lives in Cap-Santé near Quebec City.

A former window dresser-decorator, he is interested in sculptural creation and everything that involves human nature. He is keen on social sciences, history and art because it must be said that he has traveled a lot. All its itineraries include visits to museums and places marked by history. Lucien-Carol draws on the sources of history. From works by great masters to the Bayeux tapestry, to visits to contemporary artists' studios.

In 2018, in Joucas near Avignon in France, Lucien-Carol visited the workshop of mixed media sculptors Mieke Heybroek and Ulysse Plaud. This visit marked his determination to be a mixed media sculptor, strongly influenced his style and his freedom to create differently.

Also in 2018, he began to perfect his skills with the Quebec sculptor Fabien Pagé with whom he continued to refine his art and creativity.

It is in the crux of the work that the movement originates. This is where Lucien-Carol transmits to the viewer an exhilarating fascination where his imagination comes into action. The spectator is positioned on a square from which it is possible to see an open portal and, from this glance, the spectator becomes aware that only crossing the portal gives access to consciousness. His works challenge. They overcome our resistance. They captivate like a memory written on our face that we only see when we look at our reflection in a mirror. Like a stab on wood, Lucien-Carol's works mark the viewer with the agitation they provoke with the emergence of the interpretation he makes of them. The word that Lucien-Carol takes is the one that he writes on the wood in order to shape it by working hard at it with the power that his empathy gives him. Wood, its resistance and the strength to create from this rebellious material, demonstrate its desire to bring out from the shadows what must be revealed. It invites us to witness a moment, a fact that remains camouflaged or invisible. Lucien-Carol's works are a face-to-face encounter with compassion for oneself and for others. It is an encounter between our humanity and the human race. A meeting where the barriers of silence collapse.

In 2023, he was an exhibition curator for the exhibition at the Moulin de la Chevrotière in Deschambault-Grondines entitled  Fabien Pagé and his sculptor students. 18 exhibitors in wood sculpture. It was a great success, 500 visitors in 2 days.
