Fresh, bright lemons always energize me. I, of course, like to add lemon to tea, even coffee. Fresh, bright lemons always energize me. I, of course, like to add lemon to tea, even coffee. A pleasant note of acidity complements the taste of drinks, and I also like the combination of coffee and lemon peel flavors. But it's not the taste of lemon that gives me energy; it's its colour,
especially in winter. Sunlight is sometimes lacking, and lemon is like bright summer sunshine.
There it is pleasant not only to look at lemons but also to draw them. And I've already noticed that I always have paintings and drawings in close colour schemes in a row. If I start painting green landscapes, the next painting will also be in a yellow-green colour scheme. You can see for yourself: first, there were «Ancient oriental jugs», then «Summer morning» in the countryside. And now Still Life with Lemons.
All are similar in colour scheme.

My love of art was formed at an early age. My father amassed a good collection of art cards and albums. From the age of 5 I was introduced to artists such as Degas, Rembrandt, Renoir, Levitan and many others.

My family was convinced that I had an aptitude for the exact sciences (it was in fact true), so I did not develop my artistic inclinations.

After school I entered a technical college. At the institute, as an elective in descriptive geometry we were taught the basics of drawing and composition. These seminars were conducted by a talented Chelyabinsk architect.

These seminars fascinated me, I learned how to convey the volume of simple objects.

I went to the Chelyabinsk Art School at a mature age, on a paid course for adults.

I started oil painting not long ago, when I retired.  I had the time to do something that has fascinated me since I was a child. But I didn't have the opportunity.

Oil painting has opened up new horizons for me. And now I paint occasionally in acrylics and pastels. Pastel is my second favorite medium after oil.

There are many styles in painting, but I have two that I can't choose between. And I do not want to.

I love the nature of our Ural. But the sea and mountains also attract me. Recently I started painting seascapes. But not too realistically, I fantasize a bit.

Before the pandemic, I travelled not only to Russia but also to other countries.  Every impression, every memory, at least in a small piece, is fused into my paintings.

I love Impressionism and Realism. I often don't know which to prefer.  That's why my paintings don't follow one style clearly. Sometimes I start painting in a strictly realistic manner, but then suddenly I have a dab hand in my hand and I forget about realism.

However, most of my landscapes are impressionistic and my still life paintings are realistic. I don't know why this happens.  I think my intuition knows better where to lead me in painting.

In September 2021 my personal exhibition "Mosaic of Impressions" was held in the showroom of Chelyabinsk Regional Court Museum.

Before that I placed the works on the Russian and foreign Internet resources, including English online gallery ARTFINDER.

Some of my paintings are in private collections in Russia, the United States, Britain and Israel.
