To date, most of these works are part of what I have called 'The Corona Collection' because I completed a new piece every day until the end of the first lockdown in France, in May 2020.
Working mainly with charcoal and pierre noire to begin with, I then started using soft pastels for the first time and enjoyed discovering how challenging and rewarding this medium can be.

Oscar Wilde once said "Life is too important to be taken seriously" and collage is certainly a technique that promotes this very idea. It lends itself so easily to Surrealism that it is a joy to create and also to contemplate because, despite the economy of means, it can purvey a multiplicity of concepts or evoke a spectrum of different emotional responses.
