Loïc Desroeux is a contemporary Belgian artist born in 1986. He received his training at the drawing workshop of the Academy of Fine Arts in Tournai, where he deepened his expertise in drawing, engraving, and lithography.
Desroeux's artistic practice centers on the human figure and its identity, exploring the mechanisms of transmission and perception of these themes. His work is marked by a sense of silence and is inspired by his keen observation of the world.
Like an archivist, Desroeux collects various documents—family photographs, administrative papers, notebooks, and invoices—that he reworks into his art through pencil, watercolor drawing, and oil painting. His pieces reflect a thoughtful engagement with both personal and collective memory.
