Lionel Morateur is a digital artist and photographer with a unique career. After studying architecture and a few years of independent practice, he entered the field of communication. As a freelance art director, he was able to express his creativity in versatile ways.
His artistic work lies at the intersection of photography, photomontage and digital art, where he creates captivating images. His digital compositions, inspired by the work of painters as well as by cinematographic or literary stories, illustrate narrative photography. He believes in the capacity of a still image to tell a story, and his works depict a universe always in precarious balance, on the borders of madness, thus leaving room for multiple interpretations.
Lionel Morateur refuses to provide explicit explanations on his images, preferring to leave everyone the freedom to apply their own interpretation. This approach opens the way to a personal and enriching artistic experience for the spectator, who is invited to delve into the twists and turns of his imagination in front of his captivating creations.
