In the 1980's I photographed downtown areas of Tucson. Each morning I would awaken before the sun rose to get out to the street as light was breaking. I required that each image have significant words. They also needed to be free of people and living creatures, though a cat appears in one. Now, many years later, I am reworking these images. The original work is available for purchase. Also available are unframed 8" x 10" prints for $125 and 11"x 14" prints for $225. Please get in touch for more information.

During the mid 1980's I awakened before sunrise in order to photograph the streets, buildings and neighborhoods of my downtown environment. The buildings I chose, first of all were of interest to me, either because of their style, the building materials, or the setting. Next I looked for the words; signs on or around the buildings that added additional layers of meaning. The early morning time meant that few people were out in the street. Few people are in the images.
