Ma proposition « Le regard de l’eau » est une pièce dynamique, interactive et ludique, qui invite petits et grands à se confronter à l’œuvre. Effectivement, l’œuvre est composé de 266 miroirs en inox poli miroir recto-verso qui ont la possibilité de se balancer dès qu’il y a du vent. Ainsi le grand mur miroir s’active au moindre flux d’air pour devenir une surface dynamique évoquant une surface d’eau miroir. Les reflets des spectateurs s’animent, se distordent, donnant l’illusion d’une danse portée par ces ondoiements quasi aquatiques. Segmentés, les reflets se mélangent mêlant paysage, spectateurs et lumière.
Vivre cette expérience en se confrontant au « Regard de l’eau » est dans un premier temps un moment ludique et joyeux puis dans un second temps une ouverture à de nombreuses questions dans de nombreux champs de nos existences : la matérialité des choses et de nos vies, la fragilité du vivant et du monde qui nous environne, la connexion inter-vivant comme la connexion que nous avons le paysage, l’ouverture à un monde plus vaste comme si cette « dématérialisation » donnait accès à d’autres strates de perceptions pour mieux appréhender les éléments, l’eau, l’air, la terre et la lumière.
Finalement « Le regard de l’eau » est comme une porte ou une fenêtre nous invitant à nous regarder et à regarder le monde autrement.
Cette œuvre est en cours de production par la Société Moscatelli à Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue spécialiste de l’inox pour des travaux de chaudronnerie industrielle et mécène du projet « Le regard de l’eau ».
Une commande de texte sur cette œuvre est en cours auprès de l’historienne de l’art et commissaire d’exposition Marianna Gelussi (Arles).
Cette œuvre dans une production d’intérieur (activée par des ventilateurs) a été présenté dans l’exposition « Nous, les fleuves » au Musée des Confluences de Lyon en 2022-2023.

Laurent Valera is a multidisciplinary visual artist. He explores many fields of contemporary visual arts: painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video and performance. His curiosity and desires lead him to move his fields of action in order to experiment with new materials and new techniques to always be as close as possible to his feelings and his visions.
Like an archaeologist digging into geological strata, Laurent Valera explores the liquid spaces of water. Water is like a surface that reveals a depth in which we can speculate, like a material to think, to dream, to study, to recreate. Laurent Valera perceives water as the structuring element of life in its form as in its aspirations, carrying and crossing the living for more than three billion years. It is by relying on it that he builds a profusion of proposals that allow him to question life and the living in order to question the functioning of our contemporary societies.
Through his work and his artistic proposals, Laurent Valera continues his understanding of life and the living. He trained in self-induced cognitive trance with Corine Sombrun and her team at the TranceLab Institute in 2022.
His creative journey is a life path leading him to spiritual development.
