PARCOURS :

Né le 21 mai 1951 à Saint-Etienne, Gustave avait une prédisposition pour le dessin dès l’enfance. Sélectionné à 9 ans à un concours qui a permis de rentrer immédiatement à l’école des Beaux-Arts de Saint-Etienne, une promotion d’enfants, pour suivre des cours 1 fois par semaine pendant 4 ans.

9-14 ans : formé au dessin et peinture par Pierre Zellmeyer, grand dessinateur stéphanois

Rentré en 1966 à l’Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts sur concours d’entrée, à 14 ans, admis avec des adultes plus âgés de plus 10 ans.

Ses maîtres furent :

Léon Bozramiez (Grand Prix de Rome en 1947) en sculpture Claude Weisbuch (un des plus grands graveurs du XX° siècle) pour le Dessin, la Lithographie, la Gravure,

Diplôme CAFAS en 1968 : Certificat d’Aptitude à une Formation Artistique supérieure en dessin, mention très bien et Félicitations du jury.

Diplômé en 1972, Diplôme National des Beaux-Arts, spécialité en peinture, sculpture, lithographie, mention très bien, félicitations du jury. Major de sa promotion.

Dans les 33 meilleurs étudiants français cette année-là de toutes les écoles des beaux-arts.

Premier prix du ministère de l’environnement à Paris en décembre 1972 : récompense du travail effectué.
