En quelques mots…
J'ai débuté en travaillant un personnage se nommant « Odilon », cette mascotte m’a emmenée vers un univers clownesque à travers des illustrations, tableaux et petit film d’animation.
Mais l’idée de laisser mes personnages trop enfermés dans un dessin ou une peinture, les limites dont je ne voulais pas me gênaient.
Alors j’ai préféré leurs donner une vie en gardant comme matière première le papier ( je ne peints pas sur une toile mais sur du papier tendu sur châssis).
Donc je les ai fait sortir du cadre, une nouvelle naissance, tout en gardant le papier mâché.
J’ai voulu les conserver comme s’ils étaient toujours dans l’univers pictural et imparfait du papier, c’est pour cela que mes sculptures ne sont pas uniformes.
Ce monde contient des animaux et des personnages avec une histoire qui les raconte.
Je veux donner une existence plus proche en 3D, plus proche de nous, que l’on puisse palper, toucher à travers des situations plus ou moins burlesques, devenant ainsi des sculptures peintes.
