Karine Andriasyan
As a self-taught artist who started an art career in my late 40-s, I have gone a long way in a short time. It has been an exciting journey of constant learning, soul-searching, and exploration.
Starting as a representational painter, I soon felt compelled to improvise, play, and communicate something beyond conventional visual language and allowed myself to explore abstraction, to be able to express my vision beyond the traditional imagery.
My works are the intuitive emotional response to what is going on in my life and in society at a particular moment. Shapes, colors, and dynamic lines are born in a dialogue with myself, and a painting that is being created. For me, there is a synesthetic connection between color and emotions.
The drama and the harmony, the energy of a movement and the tranquility, the quiet self-analysis and the loud expression, are the inherent elements of my works.
I experiment with paints, pigments, found materials, textile, etc, everything that helps to recreate a unique and soulful message.
I take active participation in the local and international art community, including art shows, workshops, contests, Plein air trips, and charity events.
Many of my works have found new homes worldwide, in the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, etc.
